SUNBEAM® – Sunbeam is the largest producer of electric blankets and electric mattress pads in the US market. Until approximately 2000, Sunbeam had enjoyed virtually all the US market for about a decade.

Most Sunbeam electric blankets or electric mattress pads are economical to purchase, save energy, and are machine washable and partly dryable. They have proven reliability since their current technology has been available virtually unchanged for almost two decades and they have sold many millions of electric blankets and electric mattress pads using this technology.

The major complaints about Sunbeam automatic blankets and pads are that their fabric is somewhat rough and their heater wires are large and stiff (especially important when lying on a mattress pad).

Biddeford Mills was an old New England company until a few years ago when it was bought out by Microlife®, a Taiwanese company. They have been selling electric blankets and electric mattress pads in this country since about the year 2000. Biddeford Mills’ electric blankets and electric mattress pads are also economical, energy saving, machine washable and partly dryable. Their technology is also time tested as they have sold several million units since their introduction in 2000.

Biddeford Mill’s electric blankets and electric mattress pads use fabric similar to Sunbeam’s but their heater wires are thinner and more flexible.

Most seasons, they can also be found at discount stores such as K-Mart, Pamida, Profitts and middle of the road stores such as Kohl’s and the JC Penney Catalog (under the Sealy brand).
